Wallace, Paul

Wallace graduated in 1915 from Victoria College in English and History.

Fellow of University College

After his B.A., Wallace enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary force and served in France where he was wounded and discharged for two years at the University of Alberta's English department. He then returned to Toronto and spent three years obtaining his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. He was the second person after Robert R. Gordon to get a Ph.D in English at the University of Toronto. He served as a fellow at University College during this time. In 1925 Wallace accepted an appointment as head of English at Lebanon College in Pennsylvania where he remained until 1949. He resigned that year to devote himself to historical research. Wallace died in 1967.
