Sir Edmund Walker was one of Toronto's most prominent citizens and benefactors, participating as one of the founders of the Royal Ontario Museum, Chancellor at the University of Toronto, and Chairman for the Board of Governors at the University. His eldest son was E.M. Walker, Head of the Department of Biology.
