A once magnificent monument to the advances in metallurgy and mineralogy taking place at the beginning of the 1900s, this now grimy reminder of an older era still serves to house the Mineral Engineering Program, a number of other related institutes and the Canadian Mining Industry Hall of Fame. It was built in 1908 and currently (2010) is undergoing some expansion and modernization on the upper floors.
