Health Sciences Building

Originally built in 1961 to serve as the Toronto Board of Education's Education Centre this eight story, quietly modernist structure was acquired by the University in 2003, renovated and converted to house the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, the Dala Lama School of Public Health, and a number of other departments, centres and research institutes associated with the Faculty of Medicine. The building itself is handsomely clad in smooth limestone, granite and marble finishes. A number of large murals commissioned when it was originally constructed have been preserved and incorporated into the renovated spaces.
