Explorations was a journal that was devoted to research and scholarship in the communications field. Although it only ran for five years from 1953, it held an international reputation. It was edited by Edmund Carpenter and Marshall McLuhan. The journal was funded from a $750,000 Ford Foundation grant obtained by Marshall McLuhan and colleges from the anthropology, psychology, political economy, and town planning.
