Political Science

Graduate of Corpus Christi College, Oxfoird, with two degrees: Modern Languages (French); and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

Served in RAF during WWII; after which he married Rebecca (d. 2007)

Taught Political Philosophy at Oxford University, the University of East Africa, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the University of Toronto.

Dean of both Erindale College (UTM) and Scarborough College (UTSC). His serice to UTM, and his interest in the welfare of students was commemorated in the naming of "Colman Place (or House)", which served variously as the Dean's office, as headquarters of the student government and of Radio Erindale, and as the office for the residences and for the conference facilities.

First recipient of the Scarborough College Teaching Award
