Medicine (Hygiene and Preventive Medicine)
Amyot was the first Deputy Minister of the fedderal Department of Health, instituted in 1919. He was responsible, at the University of Toronto, for the establishment of the first post-graduate program in public health in Canada, and for developing the first diptheria antitoxin in the country.
